Because we treat your home as if it were our own, American Sentry Pest Control only uses what we believe to be one of the most effective termite treatments on the market — Termindor.™  In ongoing studies it has proven to be 100% effective in eradicating termite colonies in three months or less — a claim no other termiticide or termite system of any type can make. And, unlike baiting systems such as Sentricon® which may take months or years to effectively control the colony (see Baiting Systems vs. Termidor™ Liquid Treatment below), Termidor begins to work immediately.* Here are some key features:

  • Lethal upon ingestion and contact: termites can't see, feel or smell Termidor, so they move freely through treated areas, ingesting it and contracting it on their bodies. There's no waiting for termites to "find" and "accept" the bait, and no leaving your home exposed through perimeter gaps and waiting periods.*

  • Unique “Transfer Effect”: Termites infected with Termidor spread it to every other termite they contact, and because of their social natures (they feed and groom each other), entire colonies can be eliminated in three months or less — 2 - 6 times faster than Bait Systems!*

  • Proven: Applied at very low rates (just 0.06%), the active ingredient in Termidor has been used around the world on cats and dogs for flea and tick control, and on agricultural crops to protect food supplies. Registered by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Termidor is virtually odorles.

  • Easy: Call today to schedule your free inspection and consultation to see if Termidor is right for you. As always with American Sentry, there'll be no obligation or pressure to buy -- just honest answers to your termite questions: 703-361-6060.

Baiting Systems vs. Termidor™ Liquid Treatment:

Baiting Systems such as Sentricon®** have been heavily promoted in the media, and many homeowners have been sold on their non-invasive benefits. Typically, "bait stations" are installed every few feet around the perimeter of a property. The stations are monitored, and once termites are observed "taking the bait," the stations are loaded with a chemically treated bait which, when ingested and shared with the colony, results in control. While many Baiting Systems can indeed be effective over time, there are several serious drawbacks to consider:

  • Bait Systems don't work right away — in fact, it can take months to years for termites to "find" and "accept" the bait.

  • There's no guarantee that termites will take the bait — and no guarantee that they won't bypass the stations and zero-in on your home directly or through gaps in the perimeter.

  • Because it takes longer to work, termite colonies that find your home continue to wreak havoc — for months, or even years before the product controls the colony.

  • Some companies offer repellent treatments in combination with baiting systems to keep termites away from treated areas to give the bait systems time to work. Essentially, you'll be asked to pay for two forms of treatment to solve your problem and your sales ticket will probably reflect it!

Bottom Line: "If You're Not Asking for Termidor, You're Asking for Trouble!"™

Prevention:

There are steps you can take to improve your odds of avoiding termite infestations, such as making your house less desireable to termites by reducing moisture and organic matter around your home. For instance, don't store firewood or scrap lumber near the house and remove infested trees and stumps. To reduce moisture, repair leaky faucets and gutters, and grade so that water runs away from the house. Also ventillate crawl spaces to reduce humidity.

Finally, you can consider a preventative treatment on your home, which when performed by American Sentry Pest Control, comes with a renewable one-year limited warranty — for full details, give us a call: 703-361-6060.
